Real-time automatic label detection on food trays

In this project, a food tray is laid onto the conveyor belt of a machine and the line scan camera on top of it takes a photo of the surface of the food tray. Hence it is usual that the food tray has a small rotation and unknown amount of translation towards the reference position.

Project aims

The project aimed to develop a software to automatically detect the label position on a food tray at real-time rate (roughly 0.5 second per tray) since the conveyor belt runs very fast.

Project findings and impact

We developed a software to automatically detect the label position on a food tray at real-time rate (roughly 0.5 second per tray) since the conveyor belt runs very fast.
