Our Employability Skills Framework (below) sets out a range of valuable skills and competencies that will help you in both your professional life and personal development.
Each of our courses is mapped to this framework to ensure you are developing the skills and competencies you will need for your future career, relevant for the subject area you are studying.
For example, this can include undertaking project work for real businesses, working in teams or making presentations. These are reviewed by the course leader and the employability and careers teams every year.
If any of the skills and competencies couldn't be incorporated into your course for any reason, the employability and careers service teams will help you to develop them separately.
An important part of employability development is helping you to recognise the value of the experiences and knowledge you have gained during your studies, which will assist the transition from university life to future career. You can track all of these activities using our online tool Studentfolio.
