Professor Andrew Pollard (University of Bristol) and Dr Jennifer Colwell (University of Brighton) presented this seminar and book launch on Monday 20 April 2015 at the Checkland Building at the University of Brighton.
Professor Andrew Pollard and Dr Jen Colwell discussed how reflective practice can support collaborative working and generate creative optimism in the context of the current challenging climate. It will be followed by the launch of Reflective teaching in early education by Jen Colwell with contributions from School of Education colleagues (Julie Canavan, Denise Kingston and Sue Lynch).
Professor Andrew Pollard supports research impact at the Graduate School of Education, University of Bristol and at the Institute of Education, University of London. He chaired the Education Sub-panel for the 2014 Research Excellence Framework on behalf of UK Higher Education Funding Councils. Formerly he was Director of the Teaching and Learning Research Programme from 2002-09; the UK's largest ever research investment in education.
Dr Jennifer Colwell has researched early years provision and practice for over 10 years.
The two-hour seminar was attended by 40 colleagues and students from the University of Brighton.
