Claire completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2002 and began her career in the probation service where she facilitated offending behaviour programmes addressing domestic violence, substance misuse, drink driving and general offending for several years. Shortly after completing an MSc in Forensic Psychology she moved to work on a national study examining continuity of access to mental and physical health care for people as they moved through the criminal justice system, before spending three years working as a prison primary care mental health practitioner. This experience has shaped Claire’s passion for engaging hard to reach populations in mental health care and informing policy makers of innovative practices developed at the ground level.
