I completed my PhD in 2006 at the University of Brighton, School of Applied Social Science. My supervisors were: Doctor Paula Wilcox, Professor Mick Cooper, and Doctor Adrian Hemmings. It was examined by Professor Neil McKeganey and Professor Susanne MacGregor.
I completed a PG Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling in 2009, and a PG Certificate in Teaching and Learning In Higher Education in 2015.
Prior to working at the University I was an addictions practitioner in a residential drug treatment programme, and prior to that in a community alcohol programme.
