Development of a novel platform for local targeted treatment of cardiovascular disease

Endothelial injury represents a critical feature in the early stages of vascular disease. Inflammation and hypoxia are often associated with endothelial injury. Our research focuses on the effect of hypoxia and tissue protective cytokines on tissue injury and its repair. We are working on the development of novel therapeutics for local, targeted treatment of cardiovascular disease and wound healing using in vitro and in vivo models of injury.

Project timeframe

The project began in January 2016 and is ongoing.

Project aims

The development of novel therapeutics for local, targeted treatment of cardiovascular disease and wound healing using in vitro and in vivo models of injury.
