How decisions are made
International scholarships will be awarded based on your answer to the following questions:
- What are your career ambitions?
- Why have you chosen this career path?
- Decisions about scholarship awards will be made by an awards committee and are final.
- Applications that are not fully completed will not be reviewed by the panel.
- Only one scholarship application per student will be considered for September 2024 entry.
- Applications that have used AI to generate statements will be rejected.
- Please note, you will need your 8-digit student number for the scholarship application. This can be found in Student View under ‘your student record’. If you don’t include this number correctly on your scholarship application, the application will not be processed.
International scholarship application
Applications are now closed.
You will hear back about the outcome of your application by the end of April 2024.
Please note, applications that have used AI to generate statements will be rejected.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my scholarship for other means? eg housing
The scholarship can only be applied as a reduction to your first-year fees.
Can I appeal the decision of the panel if I am unsuccessful?
Our scholarship rounds are highly competitive and decisions by the panel are final.
I was awarded a scholarship last year but was unable to enrol at the university due to exceptional circumstances. Can I have the scholarship applied to this year now that I can enrol?
We will need to assess your case individually and confirm that you were awarded a scholarship. We will also need to check with our finance team that you have paid your deposit payment in time for this year.
Will the scholarship reduction be reflected in my CAS?
Yes, provided you have accepted your offer on Student View, you have paid the tuition fee deposit by 30 June 2024 and applied for your CAS by 15 July 2024.
I have deferred my enrolment, can I use my scholarship for next year?
You will not be able to defer your scholarship to a different academic year, however please notify internationaloffice@brighton.ac.uk if you are deferring and they will keep you updated on scholarship opportunities when they are announced.
What happens if I secure both the international scholarship and Vice-Chancellor scholarship?
You can only be in receipt of one scholarship. If you qualify for both scholarships, the higher of the two awards will be applied automatically to your application.
