This practical and inspirational course is designed for students with little or no experience of creative writing, or for ‘rusty’ writers who want to re-engage with the writing habit. Over this 10-week course, a series of guided exercises will explore different aspects of creative writing, such as point of view, narrative arc, character, dialogue and setting.
As well as prose fiction, the course includes sessions on poetry and life writing, giving students the opportunity to engage with genres they may not have tried before. By the end of the course, students will be well on the way to finding their unique ‘voice’ and will have developed a piece of prose (short story, start of a novel/autobiography etc) or poetry from first draft to finished article.
All our tutors are published writers/poets or experienced editors.
