Our researchers are tackling global problems using novel, innovative research techniques and interdisciplinary approaches.

You will learn with a course team who are internationally recognised experts in their field with research strengths in areas such as zoonotic disease, human physiology, diabetes, genomics, disease processes, and ecology and conservation that make a difference to our world.

Biology

Professional placements in industry provide invaluable opportunities to put theory into practice while developing new skills, building confidence and gaining vital experience that will be beneficial whether you want to work in industry or research.

Our students have been on placement with bioscience companies, research companies and organisations such as the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew and the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation.

South Africa field trip

Applied learning is an important part of your studies at Brighton. Develop your practical skills through fieldwork in the UK and overseas, options have included a trip to South Africa.

On site you will develop your technical skills using our specialist labs and facilities, and learn from guest lecturers who regularly visit and share their expertise.
