Why do we collect your data?
We take your details to manage the event booking and ensure that you are booked onto the correct sessions that relate to your subject of interest.
In addition, your details will be used to contact you with up to date information about your booking and to provide you with electronic booking confirmation (via email). None of these details are processed without your consent, taken at the time the booking is made.
We will also use this information (including the courses and subjects that you expressed interest in as part of your booking) to send you relevant information about those subjects and courses both before and after the event that you have booked on.
If you wish to change your communication preferences, you can do this at any time by accessing your preference centre using the link that you received in your booking confirmation.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, though please note that if you withdraw your consent prior to the event date, this may impact on our ability to process your booking, keep you up to date with any changes relating to the programme for the day or supplementary information (such as parking arrangements).
How your data is held
Your personal data is held within our booking system (Akero) and accessed by staff within the Marketing and Communications department and Business School who manage and run the open day events and send out related communications.
Where is your data held?
All data relating to the booking is held within the EEA and will not be transferred outside of the EEA.
How long we will keep your data?
We will retain your data for a period of two years.

The university allows data subjects to exercise their rights under the GDPR, this includes your right to subject access. Please contact dataprotection@brighton.ac.uk.

Whether providing personal data is a statutory or contractual requirement and the consequences for failing to provide the data
There is no statutory or contractual requirement to provide your personal data to us, we are processing it with your consent.
The existence of automated decision making, including profiling, information about the logic involved, including the significance and the envisaged consequences of such processing for the data subject
We will not use your personal data for automated decision making / or profiling about you as an individual.
