The University of Brighton organises its research and knowledge exchange through dedicated centres and groups, working in interdisciplinary ways to develop research, ensure its impact and promote its potential.
Our priorities are informed and enriched by our four Global Challenges: Equality and inclusivity; Creative, sustainable economies; Wellbeing; and Climate change. These offer infrastructural guidance and associated investment to promote cross-university research and external partnerships to create impact.
Working towards ways to tackle one or more of these challenges, our Centres of Research and Knowledge Exchange Excellence (COREs) address focused research agendas and contemporary societal challenges. Our Research and Enterprise Groups (REGs) are the incubators for research excellence and build connections and capacity in both emerging and established areas of interest.
This research environment provides a critical mass of expertise around a series of core subject areas. It also offers a first touch-point and nurturing network for new appointees, early career researchers (ECRs) and postgraduate researchers (PGRs). It is with this robust and supportive infrastructure that we move confidently into our next phase of development, focusing on the priorities of growing further our own talent, attracting more international expertise and expanding significantly our PGR community.
We invite individuals, enterprises and the wider community to engage with our researchers and the services we provide through the links below.
