  • Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)

Fieldwork

Field trips are at the heart of our learning experience. Fieldwork enables students to develop practical skills and apply their learning in real-world situations, preparing them for life beyond university.

Our students studying geography, geology or environmental subjects have enjoyed residential fieldwork in the UK, in locations such as Wales and Yorkshire, whilst overseas destinations have included North Africa, Greece, Sicily, Spain, Cyprus and France.

Our students studying civil engineering and construction subjects have benefited from visiting real construction sites. With a focus on multi-disciplinary learning, the opportunity to work with students from other subjects to construct small-scale mock-ups of iconic building such as the London Gherkin, mirrors the working environment students will experience after they graduate.
