Undergraduate applicant days

Our applicant days are a great way for offer holders to learn more about the course you have applied for, to get to know us better and to make sure we are the right university for you. Our applicant days are in March and April. Look out for our email inviting you to book your place.

When you book, you’ll see the relevant date and campus option for your course. You can also check the campus where your course is based using our course finder.

If you don’t have the option to book, check our advice below.

Will I be invited to an applicant day?

For most of our courses, you can book an applicant day after you have applied to us, you do not need to wait for an offer.

There are some exceptions:

  • Education, film, journalism, media, pharmacy, social science and humanities courses applicants are invited to applicant events after they have been made an offer.
  • Some courses offered by the School of Art and Media and School of Humanities and Social Science are not taking part in the applicant event on Wednesday 22 March. We recommend you book the applicant day on Saturday 22 April. If you have already booked a place at the March event, we’ll let you know if this affects you.
  • Health courses and social work are not taking part in applicant days. You can find out about your course at your online interview.

After you have booked, we’ll send you everything you need to know about your event by email and we’ll be in touch if there are any changes.

What to expect at an applicant day

Our applicant days vary by subject but typically include:

  • A subject session delivered in one of our teaching spaces - your chance to meet an academic, find out more about the course content, how the course is taught, and ask any questions
  • a student experience talk - hear from current students about what it's like to study here, what the campus is like and their top tips
  • student support services desks – where you can ask any questions about accommodation, student finance, disability and dyslexia and more
  • campus and accommodation tours – a current student will show you around.

We recommend you allow five hours for your applicant day, and more time to explore the local area.

Other ways to explore Brighton

If you are unable to make it to an applicant day, or you are still waiting for a decision on your application, there are plenty of other ways to learn more about Brighton and get to know us better:
