Undergraduate applicant events

Our applicant events for 2022 have now finished. If you didn't get a chance to join an applicant event this time, you can still visit us at an open day.

University of Brighton applicant events are a great way to learn more about the course you've applied for and what we have to offer. Our on-campus events are for offer holders, and for applicants whose course involves portfolio review.

If you've applied to us, we will email you about our applicant events if your course is taking part. Find out more about who can come to our applicant events.

How to book your place

  • We'll send you an email when you are eligible to book an applicant event.
  • You will need your University of Brighton student number to log in to our booking system.
  • The booking form will show you event dates for your course and which campus you should attend.
  • After you have booked we'll send you everything you need to know to get here.

In-person applicant events for offer holders

Our in-person applicants events are held on campus and are for offer holders and applicants whose course involves portfolio review.

When you book we'll show you relevant dates for your course and which campus to come to. You can also check the campus where your course is based using our course finder.

After you have booked, we'll send you details of how to get here and ensure you know about any COVID-19 restrictions.

About your applicant event?

Our in-person applicant events vary by subject, but typically include a subject session, student experience talk, campus tour and accommodation tour. You can also find out more about student life through our advice desks which are available on the day.

We recommend you allow around four hours for your in-person applicant event, and more time to explore Brighton or Eastbourne.

Subject session (1–2 hours)
Your chance to meet an academic and current student from your subject area, find out more about the subject and ask them questions.

Student experience talk (30 minutes)
Hear about what it’s like to study and live here, and what campus is like.

Campus tour (1 hour)
Take a tour of our university and student facilities. You can also see virtual tours, including student common areas on our virtual tours page.

Accommodation tour (30 minutes)
Take a tour of our accommodation. You can also see virtual tours of our halls of residence on our virtual tours page.

Contacting us

Who can come to an applicant event?

  • You can book an in-person applicant event after you have received an offer.
  • For some courses, where you need to submit a portfolio as part of the admission process, you can book on an in-person applicant day after you have applied to us – you do not need to wait until you have received an offer.
  • Some health, arts and education courses, where applicants are invited to an interview, are not included in these applicant events. At your interview you'll be able to get to know us better and make sure we are the right university for you.
  • Our applicant days are designed to help you get to know us. Attendance is optional and does not influence whether or not you'll get an offer.
