Be More Skilled Week

This is all about skills. Employers are looking for transferable skills, and always want to know about more than just your qualifications.

How will you tell them what they want to hear?

  • Explore the skills resources and training available to you as a University of Brighton student.
  • Book an appointment with one of our Careers Development Advisers. Please email careers@brighton.ac.uk or call 01273 642855.

One of our Career Development Advisers can help you to identify the skills you have gained from your degree, your extra-curricular activities, your work experience and anything you do in your spare time. They can also help you to identify ways you can gain additional skills and to think about how you might help a potential employer see what you have to offer.

Identify your skills, put them to practice

Skills WorkbookSkills are the building blocks of a successful CV and interview process.

Download the Skills Workbook (pdf) to help you:

  • understand your own skills
  • identify the skills you need in your chosen career
  • articulate your skills in writing and at interviews
  • keep up-to-date with the skills in current demand from employers.

LinkedIn Learning LogoAs a University of Brighton student and recent graduate, you have unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning.

All the videos are written and presented by industry and subject experts, helping you with your academic development and career aspirations.

Graduates First logoGraduates First is an online platform available to you as one or our students or graduates.

  • Practice aptitude tests and training
  • Experience a simulated assessment process for some of the largest employers.

Use your university email address to log in, if you haven't already registered.

Email the Careers and Employability team directly on careers@brighton.ac.uk for a log in if you have not registered before.

Graduates First is by far the best job test preparation site out there. The service significantly helps candidates increase their chances of passing their tests first time. I highly recommend GF to all those applying for graduate, managerial or professional roles.
