We have a long-standing relationship with Eastbourne Borough Council, undertaking a series of consultancy reports related to the town’s major annual events. We have provided evaluations and impact assessments for a variety of events.
The project commenced in 2003 and is ongoing.
Our studies on Airbourne, the AEGON International Tennis Championships, Magnificent Motors Classic Car Weekend, the Beer Festival, and Extreme Sport Event investigated the economic impacts, exploring retail, accommodation, food and additional spend. Another focus was how these sport, tourism and cultural events helped positively change the destination image of Eastbourne among visitors. The Council was also interested in how event visitors recalled sponsors, in order to provide evidence for potential new sponsors.
The studies provided recommendations for the Council outlining further improvements relating to the organisation and marketing of events in the community and beyond.
