We also provide personalised support

Here's how we can support you. To find out more, get in touch with us at SkillsHub@brighton.ac.uk.

Would you like feedback on your academic writing?

The Writing Advisory Service can provide personalised feedback on your written work throughout the year. You'll be able to get comments from an experienced academic tutor on the organisation and clarity of your ideas, academic style and frequent language mistakes. The idea is that you learn from your mistakes and through implementing the suggestions that the tutors give you.

Would you like to develop your academic writing?

The Brighton Student Skills Hub provides designated tutors to work in each school to help you develop your academic skills, through workshops and one-to-one tutorials. We also have the tutorials with Royal Literary Fund Fellows if you are largely confident with your writing but seeking some additional guidance on style and structure of your work.

Is English your second language?

If English is not your first language, the Brighton Student Skills Hub can help you improve your written and spoken English skills.

You can also get support with developing your academic writing.

Would you like to speak to a careers advisor?

We can help you decide what career is right for you, develop the skills you will need to follow it, and get a job when you finish your studies.

We can also offer support and advice about placements, volunteering, mentoring and business startup.
