Three people playing cricket in indoor facilities
Square One Cricket Academy

Square One Cricket Academy

The Square One Cricket Academy is designed for ambitious players enrolled on a university course who want to train, compete and develop within one of the UK’s most innovative cricket environments.

Delivered in partnership with the University of Brighton, the academy combines elite coaching, high-performance conditioning and academic balance to help every player progress – on the field, in their degree, and as a person.

Where education and cricket flourish together

At Square One Academy, you don’t have to choose between a strong degree and serious cricket. We believe both can thrive together.

At the heart of the programme is a simple conviction: everyone has the right to flourish – in the classroom, on the pitch, and in life.

Our training model blends:

  • modern cricket science
  • the SPARK performance environment
  • a people-first philosophy built around consistency, resilience and growth.

Players receive elite-level coaching, performance support and academic flexibility, enabling them to perform at their best – not just in sport, but in the wider demands of university life.

Our approach

The Square One Academy offers more than coaching – it is a complete performance system, built around how people learn best.

Using SPARK’s integrated mapping and simulation technology, players train with:

  • instant feedback
  • clear performance data
  • training that bridges the gap between practice and match play.

Supported by the university’s sports science expertise, sessions combine cricket intelligence with evidence-based performance principles.
