Accommodation
Incoming exchange students have the option to live in one of our university halls of residences. Typically this would be our Paddock Fields halls of residence, however this is not guaranteed as rooms are limited. Students should indicate whether they would like to stay in a room in our university halls on their application form.
We aim to keep a balance between students wanting to come for Semester 1 only and those wanting to come for Semester 2 only. For students coming to study with us for Semester 1, there will be a limited number of rooms available. Students coming to study with us for the full academic year who want to stay in university accommodation will be guaranteed a room.
For students coming to study with us for Semester 2 only, unfortunately we cannot guarantee a room until we have reviewed our accommodation provision at the end of the current year. We are hopeful that most students for Semester 2 will get a room in university halls if they want one, and we will contact students directly to confirm accommodation by early January at the latest.
Our accommodation team can provide guidance on renting privately if you would prefer this.
Module options
Each module within the School of Architecture, Technology and Engineering is worth a certain number of credits or CATS.
Most of the modules we teach are worth 20 credits/CATS. We recommend that students take no more than 60 CATS per semester or 120 CATS per academic year, as this is considered a full workload.
If you have any questions regarding module options, please email C.Grundy@brighton.ac.uk who will be able to help.
