New swim school offers chance to make a splash at the University of Brighton

A new swim school at the state-of-the-art Brighton Sport and Health Complex in Falmer is now open for bookings offering swim classes for all.

18 July 2025

Starting this August with intensive-week lessons and September for weekly classes, the university will offer high-quality swimming lessons, initially for children aged 4–16 covering Swim England’s Learn to Swim Stages 1–7 and later for adults, covering beginner to master level.

Lessons will be all taught in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment with a focus on small group, SEND-friendly classes. Teaching will take place at the Brighton Sport and Health Complex indoor pool, located at the university’s Falmer campus.

Swim and Gymnastics Coordinator Tara Clark said: "Following a successful trial in June, we're thrilled to open our pool to the local community and offer a fantastic opportunity for children and adults to learn and develop essential swimming skills.

"Our aim is to provide an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can feel confident and safe in the water."
