Monday to Friday 7.15am to 10pm (7.15am to 9pm Summer Opening)

Saturday and Sunday 8.30am to 5pm

Bank Holidays closed. We have resticted opening over the Christmas/ New Year period. See our front page news items in the run up to this period for details.

About Falmer

Situated on the edge of Brighton amongst the green fields and hills of the South Downs, the Falmer campus houses a range of outdoor sports pitches and an indoor facilities.

The Meads Building Sports Hall is a 6 court sports hall, the adjacent Brighton Sport & Health Complex (opened January 2024) has a fitness gym, activity studios and a range of grass, artificial and hardcourt playing surfaces. Further facilities are due to open later in 2024 including an indoor 25m pool and teaching pool as well as further multi sport courts.

The facilities are within a 5 minute walk of the main halls of residence and Falmer train station. With an city bus service running frequently.

Falmer's facilities include:

  • THe Meads Building Sports Hall marked with 1 netball court, 2 volleyball courts, 2 basketball courts (and whole hall show court), 6 badminton courts, cricket nets
  • 2 activity studios (Dance and Fitness Studio and Spin Studio)
  • Fitness suite
  • Seminar room
  • 25m Pool and Training Pool
  • Gymnastics area
  • Three outdoor grass football pitches
  • Two outdoor grass rugby pitches
  • Floodlit synthetic turf full size pitch (Third Generation) marked for football, 3 x 7-a-side pitches and american football.
  • Floodlit 8 court tarmacadam non-slip netball and tennis courts
  • Artificial outdoor cricket wicket
  • Outdoor changing (x8) and seminar rooms (x4) within the Sports Pavilion Building

The nearest parking is in the on campus multistory car park just over the road from the facility. For information about parking in University of Brighton car parks see Parking at Sport Brighton.

Opening times:

Monday to Thursday 7am to 11pm

Friday 7am to 9pm

Saturday and Sunday 8am to 6pm

Maps, directions and travel to our Moulsecoomb campus. The gym and fitness facility is located at street level of the Goldstone Halls tower.

Bank Holidays open weekend hours, we close on some dates between Christmas and New Year.
