Lane and family swim

Sport Brighton offers a number of swim sessions available to anyone. We offer lane swims and family swim times. The pool is 25m and has the consistent depth of 1.20m so not suitable for diving. Capacity will be determined by the number of lanes available for any given session. Anyone can book on to our laned swim sessions by clicking on the Book Now button. Family swims are available on a pay on the day basis. Check out the live timetable for your next session and more info. 

For lane swims members can book 7 days in advance. Non-member students and staff can book 5 days in advance. If you are part of the community you can also swim on a pay as you go basis with booking available 48 hours in advance. Read our latest prices.

Pool temperature

In the event of cold weather please note the pool temperature may become lower. If you would like to confirm the water temperature before attending a swim then please just call reception on 01273 643520. If for any reason we need to close the pool we will contact those booked on impacted sessions.

  • You can upgrade your membership to a fully inclusive membership. If you are an off-peak member currently the all inclusive price includes peak gym usage. If you no longer wish to use the gym facilities you can move your membership to a Swim Only membership (equivalent cost of Off-Peak Gym). If you don’t plan to swim often then gym and fitness members can pay as you go for swim sessions.

  • Laned swim sessions will utilise our 25m laned pool. This has a continuous depth of 1.2m so is not suitable for diving. Lanes will display suggested speeds to enable users to self-select the nature of their session. Laned swim sessions are lifeguarded. We also have a smaller training pool although this will not be utilised during open swim sessions. Changing including some individual cubicles and shower facilities are available. There are male, female and an accessible for all changing space.

  • Students and staff can login to our online portal using their student or staff user ID (e.g ab123) and password. Head to Manage My Memberships and Optional Extras.

    Community users can register to access our online portal and can join online or via our App. Alternatively you can join via reception. If you would like to give us a try or you are only looking to join on a short term basis we do offer a 24 hour pass. This includes access to gym, classes and lane swims for a 24 hour period. Once you have taken out membership you can book a swim taking place in the next 24 hours. We advise you check availability of bookable sessions (classes and swims) prior to purchase.

  • We are able to offer facility tours including the pool area. Just pop along to the Complex.

  • Our memberships are done via a monthly direct debit. On signing up you will pay the remainder of the month you are in and the following month upfront. Direct debit payments will then start the month after that. You can cancel this direct debit any time including before your first regular payment is taken. The are no administration fees or cancelation fees. Payment is taken at the start of the month for the calendar month ahead.

  • Bookings will be available 7 days in advance for members and 5 days for student and staff non-members. Non-member community pay as you go users are able to book 48 hours in advance. You can book these in person or via our App or website. If you need to cancel you can do so in the same way as booking. You need to provide 3 hours notice to the start of the session in order to avoid any late cancelation charges.

  • Our pool will be available to hire from February. We will have some limited availability around our university use and other hirers. Prices can be found here. Please email sportbookings@brighton.ac.uk for more information.

  • Our memberships are open to all those aged 16+. We may look to run specific sessions in the future during school holidays for younger swimmers. We have now launched our childrens learn to swim programme called Swim Cubs. See our webpage for more information and to book.

    For those with additional needs please contact the reception and we can discuss these on an individual basis.

  • We offer swimming lessons for children aged 4+ as well as adults. See our Swim Cubs page for information.

  • Our pool is located at the University of Brighton Falmer Campus. This is conveniently located on the outskirts of Brighton with bus and train links from the City and surrounding area. We are located just off the A27 the same side as the football stadium. The pool is part of our Brighton Sport and Health Complex. This also has café social area and wider sports facilities such as multi sport halls, gym, studio space, gymnastics area and outdoor facilities. Free parking is available for Sport Brighton users for up to two hours. Please ensure you input your car details at reception or in the gym to validate your parking at restricted times.
