Application deadline

Generally there's no deadline for applying for a postgraduate course at Brighton. In a small number of cases, there is a deadline or a specific time to apply. You can find this out on the course page.

If you're applying for Social Work MSc the deadline is the same as the usual UCAS deadline.

If you require a UK visa to study you should ensure you make your application with enough time to arrange your visa afterwards.

Late applications

Term starts on 25 September 2023 for most courses, we may be able to accept late applications after this date. If you would like to make a late application you should make sure that your application is completed in full.

If you require a visa to study, it may not be possible for you to make a late application.

Advice for international students – ATAS

If you are an international student and want to undertake a taught masters programme in the following areas, you will also need to apply for an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate:

  • Biological Sciences MRes
  • Chemistry MRes
  • Ecology and Conservation MRes
  • Pharmaceutical Sciences MRes
  • Biomedical Sciences MRes

Students who are nationals of an EU or EEA country or Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, or the USA do not need an ATAS certificate regardless of their course.
