Online automated interviews

Interviews for a September 2026 start on the following courses will take place using the SAMMI online multiple mini interview (MMI) software.

  • Diagnostic Radiography BSc(Hons)
  • Nursing (Adult) BSc(Hons)
  • Physiotherapy BSc(Hons)

If your application to Brighton is successfully shortlisted, we'll send you everything you need to complete your automated interview.

You will be able to choose a convenient week to take part in your video interview from a range of dates.

The software includes a practise stage, which you can repeat as many times as needed, so you can feel confident when starting your interview for real.

What to expect

Your interview invite

Shortlisted applicants are invited to an interview through Student View. You will receive an email alert and will then need to log on to Student View to find out the details of your interview.

You will need to choose an interview slot via the portal – the slot will last for one week and you must complete your interview in that period.

We start to invite applicants to interviews from November.

Your online interview

It will take up to an hour for you to complete the interview process including the practise stage.

You will be asked six questions during your automated interview with up to four minutes allocated for each. Your interview needs to be completed in one sitting - you cannot pause and go back to it later but you will get a one-minute break between questions.

You will require a computer or laptop to complete your interview – you cannot use a tablet, mobile or 2-in-1 tablet (hybrid device).

After your interview

Your interview video will be reviewed by a member of the courses admission team.

We'll aim to get back to you within 10 working days after the end of your interview window period with the outcome.

How to prepare

All the details that you need for the day will be provided on Student View.

  • Remind yourself of the course you've applied for – our course pages have very detailed information about our degrees.
  • It's a good idea to check out the professional body's website as they may have top tips to give you an idea of what to expect. You can find out about professional accreditation on your course web page.
  • It's also a good idea to review your UCAS application. We won't ask questions based around the info that you have provided but reading through it will remind you of why you applied for the course.
