Chief Finance Officer
Sue joined the University of Brighton in 2024 and has already played a central role in strengthening our financial planning, operations and governance. She has also championed improvements in departmental leadership and collaboration, including sponsoring a strengths-based development programme to enhance team performance and resilience. Her breadth of experience means Sue brings exceptional expertise, strategic insight and a deep commitment to the university’s mission and values to her role.
Before joining the university, Sue held senior positions at the University of Surrey, including as Interim Chief Executive of Surrey Sports Park where she championed the participation of women and girls in sport and the value that sport can bring to people from disadvantaged backgrounds. She has also worked in senior finance roles at the House of Commons and London Business School. Her career is characterised by a commitment to students and customers, and to improving business processes across departments and functions.
