Eastbourne Medical Centres

There are two medical centres in the Eastbourne area:

  • Eastbourne Medical Centre (Trevin Towers)
  • Victoria Medical Centre (Enys Road)

COVID-19 update

All face to face appointments will take place at Victoria Medical Centre, Enys Road Branch.

There will be no drop-ins / walk-in clinics at either Victoria Medical Centre or Trevin Towers.

Registration and appointments

Register

You can register with the centres by completing our registration form* and emailing copies (photocopy or photograph) of 2 x forms of ID:  your student ID (unicard) and either a driving licence, passport or, if you don’t possess either of the latter, your tenancy agreement.

*The form currently only works on computers, laptops and tablets, not mobile phones, something we are trying to resolve.

Do not wait until you get ill to register – not registering could delay your treatment.

Making an appointment

Routine appointment with doctor or nurse

To book a routine appointment with a doctor or nurse, please call the Victoria Medical Centre on 01323 410088 during opening hours only (online booking is currently suspended). If your problem can be dealt with by a telephone consultation then a doctor or nurse will call you back. If it cannot be dealt with by a telephone consultation, you may be offered a face to face appointment at the surgery. Some appointments with nurses will need to take place face to face, however our reception can guide you as to the appropriateness of the need to see a nurse.

Engage Consult, online consultation service

Alternatively, you can use Engage Consult, our online consultation service. You can use this messaging service to ask for help about a non-emergency medical problem or for general advice from your doctor or other members of the Practice team. Before sending a message to the Practice you need to sign up to use the service. To do this, go to the Practice website and click on the Online Consultation banner or Engage Consult logo:

LIVI, virtual GP service

As part of the extended opening hours, Victoria Medical Centre has signed up to a virtual GP service called LIVI. LIVI is available only during the following times: Monday to Friday: 4pm - 8pm, Saturday and Sunday: 8am - 4pm. Download the LIVI app on your mobile device from any App Store and have to hand some photographic ID. Once you are registered with them you can see a GP usually within 20 minutes or you can book up to 7 days in advance. The GP will then video call you in the app to start your appointment. The LIVI service is free of charge for any Victoria Medical Centre patients. You can find further information about appointments here.

Drop-ins / walk-in clinics

Some appointments at Victoria Medical Centre with GPs are book on the day only and some can be booked 48 hours in advance.

Same-day and pre-booked appointments

There will be no drop-ins / walk-in clinics at either Victoria Medical Centre or Trevin Towers. All face to face appointments will take place at Victoria Medical Centre, Enys Road Branch, not Trevin Towers. Please do not enter the medical centre unless you have a booked face to face appointment.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend an appointment please give 24 hours' notice so we can offer the appointment to someone else.

How to find us

Victoria Medical Centre, Enys Road Branch, is located at 5-7 Enys Road, Eastbourne BN21 2GD. Further directions and more information about the surgery can be found at www.enysroadsurgery.nhs.uk.

Attending a face to face appointment

If you have a face to face appointment at Victoria Medical Centre please note the following guidelines:

  • Do not attend if you have any COVID-19 symptoms. Call the reception team before your appointment. See the latest NHS guidance about the main symptoms of COVID-19 and what to do if you have them.
  • Attend alone unless unable to.
  • Arrive on time - not early or late as we are controlling the number of patients in the medical centre.
  • Wear a face mask/covering if you can do, otherwise you may be turned away.
  • A receptionist will take your temperature on arrival.

Repeat prescriptions

You will no longer be able to pick up your prescription from Victoria Medical Centre or Trevin Towers. All prescriptions will be sent electronically to a pharmacy. Please let Victoria Medical Centre know which pharmacy you would like to nominate so that we can update your record in preparation. If you do not nominate a pharmacy we will send your prescription to your nearest pharmacy and let you know where to collect it from.

For medical-legal reasons, prescription requests will not be taken over the telephone although written requests will be accepted.

Prescriptions other than the contraceptive pill may be ordered at www.enysroadsurgery.nhs.uk. Please allow 48 hours' notice when reordering.

Emergencies and out-of-hours

  • If you become unwell out-of-hours, your first point of contact for emergency medical advice Is the NHS 111 service (call 111).
  • You will be given advice from a doctor and if appropriate, be asked to attend the Accident & Emergency Centre at the Eastbourne District General Hospital.
