Entry requirements

Undergraduate

We require students taking the Bachillerato to successfully complete an international foundation year or equivalent. Alternatively, we can consider for first year entry applicants who have obtained a Bachillerato and a score of 71 or above on the ICFES exam.


Postgraduate

We require applicants to hold a Licenciado or Título Profesional (eg. Ingeniero or Médico) when awarded after at least four years of study.

Degree preparation courses at the International College

If you complete your pathway course at the International College at the required level, you are guaranteed entry to a degree at the University of Brighton. Available degree subject areas include accounting and finance, art and design, business management, international hospitality management, law with business, international event management, and many more.

English language preparation courses at our Brighton Student Skills Hub

The Brighton Student Skills Hub provides a comprehensive range of academic English language preparation courses for students who need to improve their English before starting a UK university degree.

Successful completion of one of our English courses guarantees your progression to a degree course at the University of Brighton.

We know it can be daunting to move country, so we will help you to settle in by:

Home from home

If you're looking for a little taste of home when you're in Brighton, you can check out Malo Empanadas in The Lanes, or you can head to Carlito Burrito on London Road, or you can jump on a quick train to London and try out El Rancho De Lalo for some authentic Colombian dishes.

There are also a number of societies you can get involved with where you can find like-minded people with similar interests which gives you the opportunity to be involved in society events to help you ease into student life and get familiar with the city. If you can't find a society that suits your interests then you can start your own society!

Your employability

Whether you are studying an undergraduate degree or adding to your existing qualifications with a masters’ course, its important to think about how you will use your time at university and your degree course to help you find your job when you graduate.

When you leave university we help to make sure you don't just have your degree but you have all the skills and experience you need to find your perfect job.

All of our courses either offer the opportunity for a paid placement year as part of your degree, or work-related learning within your course to help you apply your academic skills and knowledge in a professional environment, to develop industry contacts, and to best prepare you for life after university.
