Entry requirements

Academic equivalencies

Undergraduate

We require students taking the Kotogakko Sotsugyo Shomeisho (Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate) to take and successfully complete an international foundation year or equivalent.

Students with relevant diplomas and HNDs may be considered for advanced entry on a case-by-case basis, subject to admissions assessment.

Postgraduate

We require applicants to hold either a bachelor degree (Gakushi) with a high GPA or a master’s degree (Shushi) from a prestigious Japanese university.

Degree preparation courses at the International College

If you complete your pathway course at the International College at the required level, you are guaranteed entry to a degree at the University of Brighton. Available degree subject areas include accounting and finance, art and design, business management, law with business, and many more.

Home from home

If you're looking for a little taste of home when you're in Brighton, you can check out Goemon Ramen Bar near the i360 for some delicious homemade ramen, or you can head to Moshimo sushi restaurant near the seafront, or for something quick and cheap but still delicious check out Pompoko in The Lanes.

There are also a number of societies you can get involved with where you can find like-minded people with similar interests which gives you the opportunity to be involved in society events to help you ease into student life and get familiar with the city. If you can't find a society that suits your interests then you can start your own society!
