Entry requirements

The University of Brighton is committed to enabling as many people as possible to take advantage of higher education, and operates a flexible admissions policy where applications are considered on merit.

Our standard entry requirements are a guide: we also take educational and personal background into account.

UCAS tariff tables

The points system that allows UCAS to compare different qualifications.

Minimum entry requirements

The minimum grades you need to be able to apply to the university.

BTEC Diploma

We welcome applications from
BTEC diploma students.

Access courses

Advice for holders of QAA approved Access courses.

International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma

We welcome students holding the International Baccalaureate.

Other qualifications and experience

We recognise a wide range of qualifications and credits achieved for previous learning.

GCSE equivalency tests

An option if you do not have the minimum GCSE qualifications.

English language requirements

Subject-specific requirements

Initial teacher education courses

You must meet requirements set by the government.

Health courses

Entry requirements include passing a health check and providing a satisfactory DBS certificate.
