Brighton Boost 2025: financial support for applicant event travel

Brighton Boost is our package of funding and support, designed to help you make the best possible start to your time with us. That support starts with help meeting the cost of travelling to an applicant day  

If you are starting your course in 2025 you could get funding of up to £50 to help meet the costs of travel to your campus applicant day.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to claim travel support costs, you must be a 'home' student and your home address must be in an IMD 1, 2 or 3 postcode in England.

You must also:

  • Be a current applicant starting a course with us in 2025
  • Have registered for and attended an Applicant Day
  • Have completed an Applicant Day Payment Request Form within 2 weeks of your visit. A link to the form will be sent directly to your email address within a few days of your event.

The reimbursement amounts are:

  • 1-15 miles from campus: £20
  • 15+ miles from campus: £50

Terms and conditions

  1. To make your claim you will need to complete an Applicant Day Payment Request form within two weeks of your visit.
  2. You must have registered for and attended an Applicant Day. You will need to make sure you check in at our Registration Desk upon arrival, so we know you attended.
  3. Only one travel cost claim will be paid to an attendee per application year.
  4. The travel costs payment will be made depending on the distance to the university from the applicant’s home address:
    1-15 miles - £20
    15+ miles - £50
  5. The travel costs payment will be paid by BACS transfer to an account nominated on the claim form.
  6. Payments will be made by BACS transfer to the account nominated on the request form. Payments will be made within six weeks of attending an applicant day. You will be asked to provide your bank details as part of your application, which will be verified by our payments team.
