Scholarships

The University of Brighton offers both academic and sports scholarships to undergraduate students.

Merit scholarships

In 2019 the university awarded approximately 50 merit scholarships worth £1,000 each to eligible students at the end of year 1 and year 2 of undergraduate programmes.

Details for the 2020–21 academic year will be confirmed in the summer term of 2021.

How to apply

There is no application process as these scholarships are awarded on the basis of students' academic performance in end-of-year assessments. This is decided within the academic school after the examination boards have met.

Receipt of scholarships

These scholarships are paid in the autumn of the year they are awarded. They are partly funded by the university's ambassadors group.
