Moulsecoomb campus applicant day

Get ready for an exciting day at our Moulsecoomb campus, home to the School of Applied Sciences, School of Business and Law, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School of Architecture, Technology and Engineering, School of Art and Media (Journalism and Media courses only). This is your chance to learn more about the course you have applied for and experience life as a Brighton student. There will also be opportunities to connect with students and staff and explore our facilities.

What will the applicant day be like?

Upon arrival

When you arrive at our campus the first thing you’ll need to do is register at the event.

Your programme will let you know when you can register from but check the time of your subject session in your programme and try to arrive at least 20 minutes before this to ensure you have sufficient time to register. You can go on a campus tour, accommodation tour, or attend your booked student experience talk before or after your subject session, so you may also want to factor this into your timings.

Your registration point is: Elm House foyer, Elm House, Saunders Park View, BN2 4GJ

We will need to see your QR code upon arrival – you can find this in your programme, and we will also send this to you via email before the event.

View your programme - use your University of Brighton student number to log in, which you’ll find in your booking confirmation email.

Tours and talks

Our applicant days typically include:

Subject session (1.5-2 hours)

Dive into your subject with lecturers and current students. We suggest you arrive at least 20 minutes before your subject session to allow enough time for registration.

Student experience talk (30 minutes)

Hear from our current students about what it’s really like to study and live at Brighton.

Campus tour (45 minutes)

Explore our state-of-the-art facilities. Discover where you’ll learn, hang out, and exercise. Can’t wait? Check out our virtual tours anytime! You can join a campus tour and accommodation tour before or after your subject session - no need to book ahead.

Accommodation tour (30 minutes)

Visit our on-campus halls of residence, explore room options and communal areas to see where you could be living. You can join a campus tour and accommodation tour before or after your subject session - no need to book ahead.

What to bring with you

Your programme and QR code

We will need to see your QR code upon arrival – you can find this in your programme, and we will also send this to you via email before the event. Access it easily on your phone or bring a printed copy.

Reusable water bottle

Stay refreshed at our water stations throughout the day. 

Payment method

Our cashless campus cafes will be open for food and drinks. Free tea and coffee will also be available. 

Option to bring a guest

You are welcome to bring one guest with you on the day. Some of our talks are very popular so we may ask guests not to attend the subject session. Of course, if there is space, we will do our best to fit additional guests on the day and guests can attend all other activities. 

Directions

This applicant day is taking place at our Moulsecoomb campus, when you arrive the first thing you’ll need to do is register at Elm House foyer.

By car: If you need to come to this event by car, please note parking is limited. Our car parks are free and parking is available on a first come, first served basis. We will send specific parking information closer to the time. Please input the following exact address (not just the postcode): Elm House, Saunders Park View, BN2 4GJ

By train: Moulsecoomb train station is a 10 minute walk away, visit the Southern Railway website for the latest information.

By bus: Buses run regularly and cost £3 for a single journey. For timetables visit the Brighton & Hove Bus and Coach Company website.

By bike: Cycle lanes run from the city centre. There are cycle stands and Beryl BTN Bikes available on campus.

Brighton Boost 2025: help with travel costs to your applicant day

Brighton Boost is our package of funding and support, designed to help you make the best possible start to your time with us. That support starts with help meeting the cost of travelling to an applicant day and, once you accept a place with us, can mean up to £1,250 to help with accommodation or travel costs, as well as free campus parking and help to find part-time work.

If you are starting your course in 2025 you could get funding of up to £50 to help meet the costs of travel to your campus applicant day.

Additionally, all visitors can enjoy 30% off the cost of coach travel to our applicant days (National Express).
