Do not wait until you get ill to register – not registering could delay your treatment.

Making an appointment

Booking appointment by telephone

All medical centres are running a total triage service. This means that appointments with a doctor will be telephone consultations only in the first instance. If, after to speaking to you, the doctor feels you need to be seen, you will be then be given a face to face appointment. Some appointments with nurses will need to take place face to face, however reception staff can guide you as to the appropriateness of the need to see a nurse. Please ring the surgery on 01273 642864 to book a telephone appointment with a doctor or to discuss whether you need to see a nurse.

Booking appointment online

Alternatively, you can sign up to our GP online services which you can access via your computer, mobile or tablet. Once you have signed up, you will be able to: book or cancel appointments online, renew or order repeat prescriptions online, view parts of your GP record, including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations and previous illnesses, view test results. Please note that you cannot book appointments with a nurse online, please call the medical centre instead. To sign up please email the centre at bhccg.stanfordmedicalcentre@nhs.net with your personal details and formal request for access. You can find further information about online services here.

Drop-in / walk-in clinics

There will be no drop-ins / walk-in clinics at either Stanford Medical Centre or Cockcroft Building. All face to face appointments will take place at Stanford Medical Centre, Preston Road Branch, not Cockcroft Building. Please do not enter the medical centre unless you have a booked face to face appointment.

Same-day and pre-booked appointments

Some same-day appointments are available if you phone or book online from 8.00am.

We are offering pre-booked appointments between 8.00am - 10.45am on Saturday mornings and 6.30pm - 8.50pm on Monday evenings. If these appointment times are more convenient, please let our reception team know and they can arrange for you to be seen by a doctor during these times.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us via our cancellation line (option 2,1). Please let us know as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. Calling the surgery less than 15 minutes before your appointment will count as not attending but please still let us know so doctors and nurses can use the time wisely.

How to find us

Stanford Medical Centre can be found at 175 Preston Road, Brighton, BN1 6AG. Further directions and more information about the surgery can be found at www.stanfordmedicalcentre.co.uk.
