Law in Clearing

Law is at the heart of how our world works - it shapes the decisions we make, the rights we have and the societies that we live in.

As a student on a law degree course you found in Clearing, you will develop the skills to question, analyse and interpret complex legal issues, preparing you for a wide range of careers. You’ll build practical skills in mooting, negotiation and client interviewing, while also developing critical thinking, research and communication skills that employers highly value.

Whether your goal is to become a solicitor or barrister, work in policy, or pursue roles outside of the legal profession, a law degree can lay a strong foundation for a successful future.

Clearing 2025

Clearing at Brighton was the smoothest experience. I filled out a form and got a call soon after to confirm everything. I only had to explain once and it was all sorted quickly. I got the course I wanted and felt so happy and relieved

Why study Law at the University of Brighton?

  • You can tailor your degree to suit your career goals through our wide range of option modules in areas such as criminal law, human rights law, commercial law and legal practice.

  • Put your learning into practice and support the local community through our pro bono Law Clinic, working on real cases with real clients. It’s a valuable way to develop practical skills and demonstrate your commitment to the profession, helping you stand out to future employers.

  • We've designed the timetables for some of our law courses with first year classes held over three days a week and starting after 10am. This will make it easier for you to work, commute or manage other commitments.

Qualifying Law Degrees

Recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority as ‘Qualifying Law Degrees’ for 2025 entrants, all our law degrees also cover the foundations of legal knowledge required by the Bar Standards Board to satisfy the academic stage of training for barristers.

Our foundations of legal knowledge modules are also aligned with the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE), providing a solid base for you to prepare for SQE1 should you wish to qualify on the new solicitor’s route.
