Santander

The University of Brighton has been in partnership with Santander Universities since 2008. Since then they have invested nearly £1.4million in providing opportunities for some 1,800 students.

Their funding supports student opportunities such as paid-internships and placements, awards for entrepreneurship and enterprise, and funds to support students to fund whatever they need to advance their studies and university experience. 

In the 2023–24 academic year their support is providing students with the following opportunities:

Funding streams

Santander University of Brighton Ideas Competitions

An Ideas Competition for any student and recent graduate (Class of 2023) who has an idea for a new product, service, digital tool or community project.

Santander University of Brighton Business Growth Grants

A Startup Booster Grant for any student or recent graduate (Class of 2023) who is trading as a freelancer, a small business or as a social enterprise.

Santander Universities Employability Programme

Up to £1,000 to fund a student internship with an SME or not-for-profit organisation over the summer.

Santander Universities Undergraduate Research Programme

Up to £1,000 to fund an undergraduate student summer placement to participate in a research project at the university.

Santander Bright Futures Fund

Each year Santander provides 10 x £1,000 awards that Brighton students can win to support their studies and enhance their university experience. Register with the Santander platform to be alerted to this fund when it next opens in October 2024.

Santander Opportunities Platform

Beyond the partnership with the university, Santander offers a range of development and other funding rounds directly from its platform. Sign up today to stay in the know!

Santander X Entrepreneurship Awards

These annual awards are open to any entrepreneur or new business in the UK. Check out the Santander X platform to find out more.
