When you receive a decision

Choose your firm and insurance choices

Once you have the decisions you need, you can choose your firm choice – the university you most want to attend – and, if appropriate, an insurance choice.

Compare your offers

Look again at the course, university, accommodation and anything else that's important to you before making your decision.

Your UCAS reply deadline

Reply to your offers

Your deadline depends on when you receive your final university decision. For 2027 entry, the main UCAS reply dates are 5 May, 2 June and 21 July. Your own deadline will be shown in your UCAS account.

Reply by your personal deadline

Don't assume everyone has the same date – check your UCAS account before accepting or declining your offers.

After choosing Brighton

Plan your accommodation

If Brighton is your firm choice, this is the point to make sure you understand your accommodation options and any booking deadlines that apply to you.

Explore accommodation

Find out about halls and other places to live, and check what you need to do to secure your accommodation.

Questions about when to apply to university

[Expand all]

  • No. For most undergraduate courses starting in 2027, the UCAS equal consideration deadline is 13 January 2027 at 6pm.

An earlier 15 October 2026 deadline applies to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge and most courses in medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine/science.

Your school or college may also give you an earlier internal deadline so that there is time to check your application and add your reference.

Always check the application information for the course you're interested in.

  • The main UCAS application dates also apply to international students, but universities may continue considering international applications later where courses have places available.

If you're applying from outside the UK, allow additional time for other stages of your journey, including meeting English language requirements, arranging your Student visa where required and preparing to travel to the UK.

Find out more about applying to Brighton as an international student.

  • Yes, you may still be able to apply after the main January deadline if the course has places available.

Later in the application cycle, other routes including Clearing may also be available. Before making a late application, check that the course you're interested in is still accepting applications.
