Frequently asked questions

Can I use my scholarship for other means? eg housing

The scholarship can only be applied as a reduction to your first-year fees.

Can I appeal the decision of the panel if I am unsuccessful?

Our scholarship rounds are highly competitive and decisions by the panel are final.

I was awarded a scholarship last year but was unable to enrol at the university due to exceptional circumstances. Can I have the scholarship applied to this year now that I can enrol?

We will need to assess your case individually and confirm that you were awarded a scholarship. We will also need to check with our finance team that you have paid your deposit payment in time for this year.

I have deferred my enrolment, can I use my scholarship for next year?

You will not be able to defer your scholarship to a different intake or academic year. You can apply again next year, please keep an eye on this webpage for more information.

Will the scholarship reduction be reflected in my CAS?

Yes, provided you have accepted your offer on Student View, you have paid the tuition fee deposit and applied for your CAS by the deadline.

What happens if I apply for the International Office scholarship but am also eligible for the Vice-Chancellor scholarship?

The International Office scholarship is for those that are not eligible for any of the Vice-Chancellor scholarships. You can only be in receipt of one scholarship, therefore if you are eligible for the Vice-Chancellor scholarship, this will be the scholarship you are awarded.

I've been awarded a scholarship for September 2025 entry. What do I need to do next in order to receive the scholarship?

  1. Accept your offer on Student View
  2. Pay your tuition fee deposit
  3. Apply for your CAS by the deadline

When will I see the scholarship deducted?

The scholarship will be applied after 31 October, provided you have paid 50% of your tuition fee by the 31 October deadline. Your payment will be 50% of the total fee amount before the scholarship has been deducted, inclusive of your deposit (if required).

You will not see your scholarship reflected in your fee anywhere before 31 October. If you have a payment plan in place to pay your tuition fee by credit/debit card, the Finance department will update your plan with the new figures after 31 October and email a new schedule to you where you will be able to see that your final payment instalment has been reduced.
