Social work degrees

Social work is a rewarding and challenging profession that supports those in need.

It is a career where you can make a difference to people dealing with situations such as poverty, addiction, unemployment, disability, abuse and mental illness. You could also be helping people deal with issues around fostering and adoption, safeguarding, or living independently.

At Brighton we offer social work degrees and courses at all levels, from an apprenticeship to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, to continued professional development for qualified social workers.

Our courses are approved by Social Work England and offer clinical practice hours.

As an older student I had been out of education for some time. I appreciated that the course entry requirements valued life experience as well as academic qualifications. Taking part in seminars and lectures opened up different ways of seeing the world – it was a wonderful experience. The course changed my life. I am finally doing a job that does not feel like work; it is a passion and a privilege. When I graduated I found work straight away, with a protected case load which enables further learning.
