Your campus

The connection to our locations and communities is what makes studying at Brighton special - from the cultural powerhouse that is Brighton, to the stunning beaches and community feel of Eastbourne. You’ll belong here.

Your learning will be based around one of our four campuses – each with their own unique vibe and spaces to explore.

You can spend time on campus outside of your timetabled sessions, too - taking advantage of our libraries, study spaces, sport and fitness facilities and food outlets, to study and socialise with new friends.

If you don’t have a suitable study space at home, each campus also has computer rooms, which you can use to study or access remote learning – simply book a PC through the My Brighton app.

What is my campus like?

City campus

What's on campus?

Our City campus is in the cultural heart of Brighton, a short stroll from the beach and the pier. The nearby Phoenix Brewery halls of residence are home to 300 students.

Social scene: Our City campus is surrounded the by bars, pubs, clubs, theatres, comedy and live music venues that make Brighton such a popular destination. In the summer the seafront buzzes with activities, impromptu BBQs and picnics on the beach.

Arts: Every May, Brighton hosts England’s biggest arts festival, and it is home to highly regarded theatres, galleries and events, not to mention the Royal Pavilion, which has become a symbol of the city's eccentricities.

The Sallis Benney theatre and gallery hosts a number of events on campus during the festival and throughout the year. We also host events on campus, such as our Summer Show, where our art, design, architecture, and media students exhibit their final projects.

Food and drink on campus: There's a choice of cafes and restaurants on all of our campuses.

Falmer

What's on campus?

On our Falmer campus you'll find two halls of residence, as well as the library, restaurant, cafes, and a students' union shop and bar.

Social scene: More than 600 students live in halls of residence on this campus, and areas that are popular with students, such as Moulsecoomb, Bevendean, Hollingbury, Elm Grove, are just a short cycle or bus ride away.

Our Falmer campus is set in the South Downs National Park, but is also just a ten minute bus or train ride from the centre of Brighton, giving you the best of both country and city living.

Sports: Falmer has a floodlit astroturf football pitch, netball and tennis courts, a sports centre with a fitness suite, two activity studios and a sports hall with six badminton courts. Beyond the campus you can find teams for almost every sport, from beach volleyball to touch rugby. The campus is right next to Brighton & Hove Albion's Amex Stadium.

Campus transformation

Over the last four years, we've transformed our Moulsecoomb campus and we're adding the finishing touches for the start of the autumn term. As part of the transformation we've added:

  • five new halls of residence with over 800 rooms at competitive rents
  • Elm House – a new home for our School of Business and Law with flexible modern learning and social spaces
  • new fitness facilities and a social Students' Union space
  • an accessible pedestrian bridge linking both sides of our campus
  • a multi-storey bike and car parking facility.

What's on campus?

At Moulsecoomb you’ll find professional-standard facilities and learning resources for all of our subjects, alongside the library, student centre and our new Students’ Union, gym and fitness facilities.

Social scene: Moulsecoomb campus is at the centre of the city's student area, with loads of local amenities on the doorstep such as coffee shops and cafes, takeaways, supermarkets for the weekly shop and lots of other useful shops and services, too.

Just two miles north of the city centre, it is easy to catch a train or bus into Brighton and make the most of the bars, pubs, clubs, theatres, comedy and live music venues that make the city such a popular destination. In the summer the seafront buzzes with activities, impromptu BBQs and picnics on the beach.

Food and drink: There's a choice of cafes and restaurants on all of our campuses.

Arts: Besides the modern Towner Contemporary Art Gallery, there are also five theatres in Eastbourne and a number of arts and music festivals throughout the year.

Sports: On campus there is a 25-metre swimming pool, sports hall, gym, artificial outdoor pitch and dance studio. Our students take advantage of being close to the sea and the South Downs, exploring them on foot or by bike.

Your timetable

Your timetable has been designed to  give you the best start possible, introducing you to your course and your university.

Your first few weeks will be full of activities to kickstart your university experience. You will be able to see your welcome timetable after you enrol online, from Monday 22 August.

Your academic timetable may not be finalised until after you arrive, but will be ready by the end of Welcome Week.

It’s important that you check your timetable regularly as we’ll be adding more events and activities right up until you start, and academic timetables can change throughout the year.

What will my timetable look like?

Welcome timetable

Your welcome timetable has been designed to introduce you to your course, as well as everything else that Brighton has to offer. You’ll have opportunities to meet your course mates and lecturers, as well as all of the supportive teams here to help you thrive.

You'll be able to see your welcome timetable through My Studies shortly after you enrol, but don't forget to keep checking for new events and sessions.

Enrol and complete your online tasks from 22 August

Academic timetable

Your academic timetable may not be finalised until after you arrive, as we need to ensure everyone gets the right access to our range of specialist teaching facilities. You might be able to see some sessions in your timetable after you have enrolled, but these could change.

You should also check your timetable regularly throughout the year, as teaching on some courses may change from week to week or between semesters.

We request that you do not arrange any part-time work or book travel until you have thoroughly checked your academic timetable, once teaching has started.

Depending on your course, your learning will be delivered across our lecture theatres, seminar rooms, labs, studios, workshops and simulation suites, ensuring you can get the most out of studying here.

Some lectures will be recorded available online, so that you can re-watch them afterwards at a time that suits you - you'll find out more about this through the My Brighton app after you have enrolled.
