Tailor your degree
You'll have the opportunity to choose from a wide selection of optional modules, allowing you to tailor the course to your own interests and career ambitions. In your final year, you can choose to specialise in areas from public relations and social marketing to consumer psychology and online consumer behaviour.
After graduating, you will be well-qualified for roles in market research, brand management, account management, advertising, public relations, consultancy and digital marketing.
Get more than a degree
You may choose to complete a professional placement year with a leading commercial organisation to boost your CV and gain industry contacts. Students in the past have undertaken placements with companies including Nissan, Enterprise Rent A Car, Ubiquity Group, Church & Dwight and the NHS.
If you want to start your own business or marketing agency, industry-sponsored competitions and support from our entrepreneurship network, Beepurple, and our careers service will help you pursue your career goals.
Putting learning into practice
Our student-run marketing agency, Bright Young Things, gives you the experience of working in an agency environment and engaging in live client project work from your first year – putting your developing skills and knowledge into practice.
There will also be opportunities to test your professional skills; to learn what works and what doesn't in a secure and supportive environment; and to develop innovative approaches to marketing problem-solving.
